EnergySolutions officially took operational control of the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR) through an approved Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) license transfer in June 2016. 

 

Work commenced immediately to decommission the facility and announced in November 2019 that the physical work of decommissioning the facility and removing all radioactive contamination had been completed. 

 

EnergySolutions is in the final stages of the project working with the NRC to finalize the necessary documentation to transfer the license back to Dairyland Power which will include the onsite ISFSI.
